Congratulations are in order to the Varsity Basketball Team on their win Tuesday night at Northern Illinois University to capture the DeKalb region Super Sectional Championship. The Leo Lions defeated the Brimfield Indians by a score of 55-51 in an exciting back and forth game that went down to the wire. Leo advances to the Final 4 of the IHSA 1A Playoffs at the Peoria Civic Center (Carver Arena) inDownstate Peoria, Illinois. Leo will play Woodlawn (Winner of the SIU Carbondale Super Sectional) thisFriday, March 11th at 2pm in the Semi-Final contest at the Peoria Civic Center. The winner of Leo vs. Woodlawn game will play in the State Championship on Saturday, March 12th at 2pm against the winner of LeRoy and Liberty. The losers of Semi-Final Games 1 & 2 will play for 3rd Place on Saturday at 12:15 pm. We hope to see as many Alumni as possible at the games. Please come out and cheer the Lions on to a State Championship. However, if you can’t make it to Peoria, all games on Friday and Saturday will be broadcast on Comcast Sports Net Channel.
