We wish to thank Pulitzer Prize winning author Jonathan Eig for his on-going support of Leo. He will grace us with a talk Monday at 2 p.m. The entire student body will be in attendance.
Through the support of our alumni, as well as Country Financial local office operated by Mike Sheahan, every Leo student has a copy of King: A Life (Youth Edition). The generous donations resulted in enough books for next year’s incoming class of approximately 100 freshmen.
Our 25 News Literacy students have benefitted from reading the book in recent weeks and four students have volunteered to read brief, pertinent selections from the book before Mr. Eig speaks.
Journalism instructor Daniel Ridges has been committed to this program during Black History month and will have the students practicing and performing at their best.
We invite the alumni to come and meet Mr. Eig. Some alums who supported the students also purchased hardcover books and can pick up their pre-purchased hardcover adult versions before the program begins. Those unable to attend will receive their signed book by delivery at the next alumni meeting or we can have them mailed to you or someone you purchased them for.
