The Leo Alumni Association was recently notified of the death of Father Anthony Jacob of the Class of 1957. Fr. Anthony was originally a member of St. Sabina Parish but moved to St. Thomas More Parish at a young age and subsequently attended Leo. After Leo, Fr. Anthony attended St. Procopius College where he became involved with the Benedictine order in his Sophomore year at St. Procopius. Fr. Anthony obtained a degree in philosophy and became a mathematics instructor at St. Procopius Academy. After much study, Fr. Anthony attained various designations within the Benedictine community, ultimately being ordained to the priesthood in Rome. Fr. Anthony’s subsequent career included teaching at Benet Academy in Lisle Illinois, obtaining a bachelors and masters degree in mathematics form the Chicago’s Illinois Institute of Technology , and subsequently a Masters of Business Administration. He degrees were put to use when he acted as the coordinator of computer operations at the Benet Academy and the business manager and director of finance at Benet from 1992 until 2006. Fr. Anthony’s career continued on until hampered somewhat by health issue, but additional details are listed in his obituary which is available here.
The entire membership of the Alumni Association offers its prayers and condolences to Fr. Anthony’s family, and to his close friends and associates at this time.
