In spite of the data that tells us that the murder rate is declining, there is a feeling of hopelessness in too many neighborhoods all around us. So who/what is winning? Hope or Hopelessness? Mr. Dan McGrath, for 13 years the sports editor of the Chicago Tribune, has moved from the Tower on Michigan Avenue to a greystone building on West 79th street, just west of Halsted in the Auburn-Gresham neighborhood of Chicago. He is beginning his fifth year as President of Leo High School, his alma mater, an all-male Catholic school serving an urban population from some of the most disadvantaged areas of the city.
