John “Jack” DeLaMar, former student, accomplished Lawyer. Rest in Peace

The Alumni Association was recently notified of the passing of , John “Jack” DeLaMar on Friday March 26, 2021, at the age of 75.

Jack grew up in Chicago and attended Leo High School. Subsequently he had achieved the accolade of graduating with honors from the University of Illinois College of Law, where he achieved the exclusive recognition of being part of The Order Coif – a national honor society for Lawyers. With these impressive credentials Jack entered private practice and also went on to serve Champaign County as an assistant state’s attorney for six years.

After spending decades on the bench. Jack offered his services expertise, by volunteering for CASA, where he fought for the rights of abused and neglected children.

Jack amused himself by playing softball, hiking, biking and water skiing. He was also an avid Bears fan.

He is survived by his loving wife Melody, three daughters, and 10 grandchildren.

The entire Alumni Association offer its prayers and condolences to Jacks’s family and Jack’s close friends and associates at this time.
