Br. William Leo McInerney -Former student, accomplished Teacher Rest in Peace.

The Alumni Association was recently notified of the passing of William Leo McInerney C.F.C. On December 21. Brother McInerney attended Leo High School from 1953 to 1957 (finally graduating from Main south when his family moved). As a Leo student Brother McInerney participated in a number of activities, most notably the band, where he played the trumpet.

Brother McInerney returned to Leo during the years 1979 through 1981 and subsequently from 1985 through 1989 where he taught English and Theology. Brother McInerney also served as the assistant principal for Leo in 1987, and as the as vice principal in the year 1989.

In addition to being teacher and administrator at the school Brother McInerney took on a number of additional responsibilities at Leo including serving as Campus Minister and Liturgy Committee Chair.

A memorial mass is planned at St. Patrick’s Church in downtown Chicago at the earliest opportunity which is expected to be in the upcoming summer. The entire Alumni Association offer its prayers and condolences to William’s  family and William’s close friends and associates at this time
