The Leo Alumni Association was recently notified of the death of Thomas A. McGowan of the Class of 1970 by several of his friends and relatives. Tom was a graduate of Visitation grammar school. While at Leo, Tom made the Football team during a very competitive year, during his senior year. After graduating from Leo, Tom married his high school sweetheart, Donna Wegzerson, a marriage which lasted through the years and provided Tom with three children. Tom was known to be a highly charismatic and likable person who held a multitude of jobs, including a period of self-employment operating a video rental establishment. Tom’s most overriding employment was performing a variety of jobs involving customer contact at Ameristar Casino in Indiana.
Tom’s identification with and pride in Leo High School has been a consistent part of his life. Through the years he maintained close contact and friendship with many of his fellow graduates and Tom has always been a regular attendee at Leo Alumni events. The entire membership of the Alumni Association offers its prayers and condolences to Tom’s family, and to his close friends and associates at this time.
